Why choosing "MFI "?

Third party MFI accessories factories or distributors should pass authorized lab testing become allowing to use MFI logo on their package. Therefore, many customers would equal MFI to apple qualified and trouble free. It might be truth that their sample passed lab test, at least factories can guartee their engineer samples are under guideline of MFI designing\ quality \compatibility. However, even apple is not able to assure each product to be ok, besides third party factories or distributors.

Each model under mfi project is compatible with relative models of iPod \ iPhone \ iPad. This kind of compatibility is inheritable. That means, unless factories or distributors update their accessories upon new apple models,MFI authorization will not automatically apply to new models.

What's more, so called mfi certificate letter is actually OTA testing\TDMA testing\ self-cert auditing certificate provided by third party lab, rather than apple itself. Therefore, these "mfi certificate" is only apply to specific samples,under specific criterion, to specific models. That means, MFI is just one of the criterion when choosing apple relative accessories. It is not the only standard,

For customer, the best accessories should be the ones that suit you ipod/iphone/ipad best from model compatibility to electronic parameter. Unless you are professional designer or engineer, please read the user manual or the package carefully before desiding to buy a mfi or non-mfi accessories. It would be the most reliable method to try accessory before making any decision.
